As of May 17, all students grades kindergarten through 12 have returned to in-person learning, as required by Commissioner of Education Jeffrey Riley. Even with an influx of students in the building, reported cases remain low. Dartmouth has escaped a yellow designation and is back in the green, joining many other cities and towns across the commonwealth. Acushnet and Fairhaven remain yellow-designated towns, or moderate risk.  New Bedford is one of two red-designated or high risk communities in the state with a 4.3% positivity rate; the other is Lawrence with a 4.46% positivity rate.
