will she continue on the path that president obama, love him or hate him, has been progressive in embracing charter schools or move us in a different direction? it has a potential to be part of the debate in a way it hasn t before. it impacts 74 million american children. that s where the 74 comes from. exactly. in our green room right now is chris christie. in my home state of new jersey nobody has taken on the teachers unions like chris christie. great issue for him and all of these candidates in the campaign. if you believe education is a catalyst for social mobility in this country, in a campaign where we re talking about income inequality and how we deal with an economy in transition when you look at globalization and automation and what they re doing, these candidates should be talking about education reform every single day. they talk about income inequality but not education inequality. a lot of kids don t get to go to good school. these issues go together.
he up ended the invincible candidate. she came out with a book tour. looks uncomfortable. elizabeth warren setting aside some policy differences, dynamic, comfortable in terms of how she presenting. has a passion and a way to present. that is very different and more capable than hillary clinton. but she s not going to run is the problem, according to her. anything can happen. in some ways elizabeth warren, she isn t gunning for hillary clinton, she s gunning for you. you re associated with wall street. you have been a champion for wall street. are you concerned that somebody like her catches fire and puts you in the cross hairs? my group represents financial service companies all over the country. but there s an issue around income inequality. we should have a serious discussion about it. but keep in mind, things like education inequality is one of the root causes of income inequality. let s not just throw a label on it. push it one more thing. you are close to financial
but not in being the perpetual referee of what sounds like a fight between my 13-year-old son and my 10-year-old daughter. you did this for him, that s not fair. well, that s not fair, i wan want this to be fair. i grew up in an america that said, life isn t fair. you know, where do i start on this. the idea that chris christie s going to tell the low wage workers in america, the people in poverty who are struggling to make ends meet, they are acting like 13-year-olds or 10-year-olds arguing over a toy in the back seat. he s also saying it s their fault. that s right. my new book which is an an tholg. in it, what we do is show from people from adam smith and elizabeth warren that there s a whole system here you have to look at. income inequality is just the way we can view this, there s education inequality, there s environmental hazards.
