The SME Education Foundation 2021 Board of Directors have taken office. The governing body of the Foundation, the board is comprised of leaders from industry, academia as well as community leaders. “These officers and directors bring a high level of professional accomplishment and leadership to the Foundation,” said Rob Luce, vice president of the SME Education Foundation. “This board, robust in experience and diverse in background, will be essential in furthering our mission to inspire, prepare and support young people in manufacturing and engineering fields.”

After awarding 25 Rapid Response Grants to support classroom instruction during the pandemic, the Kokomo Public Schools Education Foundation awarded an additional $5,700 in teacher mini-grants to fund creative classroom projects.
More than 10 Kokomo School Corporation educators, representing five district schools, received grants during the fall mini-grant distribution cycle. The Education Foundation Board of Directors semi-annually (each semester) awards teacher enhancement mini-grants worth as much as $1,000 to Kokomo School Corporation teachers. In the past decade, the Foundation has written grant checks to Kokomo Schools teachers for more than $50,000. This fund is supported by donations.

Effective Feb. 15, 2021, Kristin Livingstone will become the new Executive Director of the Education Foundation of Teton Valley. Kristin moved to the Tetons nearly a decade ago for the mountain lifestyle. She stayed because she discovered a way to positively impact her community while working in education. A passionate believer in every child, Kristin has made it her lifeâs work to ensure students have access to the opportunities they need to achieve their highest potential. She has been in the classroom teaching preschool, traveled across the country teaching experiential programs for high school students, worked with the Florida Center for Reading Research during University and taught public school in Colorado. Eventually, Kristin settled in Jackson, Wyoming and served as the Associate Director of Teton Literacy Center where she worked to ensure all students had access to high quality educational services.
