Standpoint when slavery ended with the 13th amendment and soon after the chinese communities were excluded from entering the countries due to the chinese exclusion act of 1882. In rent history the black community was red lined to the out skirts of the city. Japanese americans were sent to internment camps. They have been targeted and most recently the newly latin students. The trauma continues to exist in our communities today. This is not the america we envisioned but this can be the San Francisco that we need to correct the wrongs of history. We cannot forget the pain and suffering of aning of ancestors. We are the wildest dreams of ancestors whose voices were silenced. Here i stand before you to open the conversation on reparations to lead to a plan with a reparations package for black people in this city. Deal with single occupancy vehicles, how we get private cars to either to certainly reduce their number, electrify those that are there, and thirdly, very important on that private sector of transportation is how do we electrify the dirtiest vehicles, diesel trucks. That is a big task for us to figure out how our asthma corridors, which are related to our transportation corridors which are related to our movement of goods, how we elect reelect electrify that. But certainly, supporting public transportation, getting people out of vehicle, owning our grid, those are the areas that i think were ripe to have leadership and help. The last piece is as an equity issue, Disaster Preparedness is key because we know that population thats suffer from the greatest health and equity of chronic diseases are the most at risk in disaster for Poor Health Outcomes so dr. Gurly has been a real champion across the department. I want to thank her and her team for that leadership and thank you in terms of how we have moved from a less frequent execution of these duties to a frequent one.
