MARTHA SEZ: 'For me, Santa Claus was no big deal' | News, Sports, Jobs

Hey, did you get my present (Christmas card, cookies)? That time-honored excuse, “It must have gotten lost in the mail!” has taken on new credibility this holiday season, as the United States Postal Service, Fed-Ex and United Parcel Service all founder in a sea of undelivered envelopes and packages. When I brought my giant cardboard box of gifts to the Keene Post Office and heaved it up onto the counter, somehow maneuvering it under the virus-proof plastic shield separating me from the employee behind the counter, it was still 10 days before Christmas. Maybe 9. Anyway, I was a lot earlier than usual, and, according to my receipt, my grandchildren in California could expect delivery Dec. 18. When I mentioned this to a friend who works for the Post Office, she said “They’ll be lucky if they get it by Christmas.”

(Photo : Photo by Janayara Machado on Unsplash ) [VIDEO] Fish vs. Octopus: 8-Arm Tentacle Sea Animal Bullies Fish by Punching it in the Head We all know that octopus has a special feature that attaches eight arms inside their body. It allows them to easily capture prey, swim in the ocean, and other unique things that octopuses can only do. One thing, however, that they surprisingly does in the ocean is to bully most fishes down there. Normally, octopuses have sizes of 4.3 feet in length and weighs up to 22 pounds.

Watch: Octopuses Punch Fish, Sometimes For No Apparent Reason : NPR

Embed What have eight legs, hunt among a group of fish and can throw a mean sucker punch? According to research published in Ecology last week, the answer would be octopuses (yes, octopuses, not octopi we asked). Octopuses punch fish. Deliberately. Sometimes there s a reason, but other times, there s no discernible excuse. Researchers caught this behavior on video. The first time researcher Eduardo Sampaio witnessed this phenomenon, he laughed. Normally that d be fine but at the time he was underwater wearing scuba equipment.
