2 teens killed in Negros city road collision

(Pixabay / MANILA BULLETIN) Police withheld the names of the male victims aged 13 and 15, both residents of Barangay 20. Police Lt. Col. Eduardo Corpuz, city police chief, said the victims were riding a motorcycle when they overtook a vehicle and crashed into a six-wheel truck driven by Vergil Susana, 26, of Talisay City. Corpuz said the motorcycle was allegedly speeding when it swerved to the truck’s lane, causing both victims to be thrown off from their vehicle. The victims sustained head injuries and were declared dead in a hospital. Corpuz said the victims were not wearing helmets and they didn’t have driver’s licenses.

(Photo courtesy of Sagay City Police Station/ MANILA BULLETIN) In Victorias City, Earl Sorilla, 21, of Barangay 6; and Richard Christian Casin, 39, of Barangay 7 died after their motorcycle collided with a Ceres Liner bus that was about to park at the terminal in Barangay 13. Lt. Col. Eduardo Corpuz, city police chief, said the victims were on their way home when the accident happened. “Matulin daw ang takbo nila, posibleng nakainom din,” Corpuz said, adding that both victims were not wearing helmets. The two victims sustained head injuries and were declared dead on arrival at a hospital. No injuries were reported on the passengers of the bus.
