Each year, Miami s Art Basel adds more artistic experiences that reach across the city s neighborhoods and include Black artists. Events happening in Overtown, Brownsville, and Little Haiti draw attention to artists and entrepreneurs that largely get ignored by mainstream art buyers and appreciators. This year, while under pandemic guidelines, I spent three days experiencing Art of Black, an immersive experience that shines a light on what makes Black artists such a pivotal part of Miami s history. The month-long Art of Black experience holds a lot of cultural significance, so meeting one of the originators provides an understanding of its importance to the larger Miami story. This year, Art of Black
Back in 2014, Adrian Garcia began assembling the group along with friend Keysel Pelaez and colleague Jack Le Sante. The band numbers no more than seven members at any one time, with its three founding members at the core of the collective. Its stated mission is one of “crafting lyrical music of a nuanced orchestral character with a robust message,” a modus operandi that reflects the constantly morphing nature of the band.
Oracle EP, whose cover featured artwork by American painter Maxfield Parrish, the group began set to work building its debut album,
A New Wilderness. The relationship of the visual and the auditory would manifest itself once again through continual collaboration with Miami-based artist Edouard Duval-Carrié, whose work reflects his Haitian upbringing and heritage through Vodun iconography, magical realism, and sociopolitical commentary regarding Haiti’s history and mythology.

Champagne Edouard Duval and EMW Fine Wines have announced a new distribution partnership for Greater China, which includes Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, starting from this December.
Based in the Côte des Bar region, the eponymous Champagne winery is owned by Edouard Duval, who is also the CEO of fine wine importer and distributor EMW Fine Wines.
Champagne Edouard Duval is hailed as “using the best-selected grapes solely coming from its own estate – the Domaine Sainte Eulalie”. The ancient Priory was founded almost 1,000 years ago, in 1095, by the monks of Cluny Abbey, and it is one of the oldest historical estates still in existence, with 28 hectares of contiguous vineyards producing Champagne.
