$12M cancer center opens its doors to community

Southeastern Regional Center s William L. Baker Family Medical Building and John W. and Edna McManus Shepard Cancer Center opened its doors to the community early this month.
The new 12,000-square-foot facility replaces the hospital s smaller cancer center purchased back in 2012. While the larger facility means more exam and fusion treatment rooms, the staff size will remain the same.
According to Marjorie Clayman, marketing and communications manager, the cancer center is continuing to use the same staff that people have come to know and trust. The new Oncology Center is a wonderful addition to our hospital. We can now accommodate the surrounding community with the larger rooms and capacity to serve more patients, said Elaine A.
