Over a 10-year period Stanislaw Lenartowicz downloaded hundreds of child abuse images and videos but he told officers he gained no sexual gratification from children . Police were alerted to the 65-year-old after intelligence suggested a computer was accessing an online chat site, which was believed was being used to access child pornography. Officers searched two properties linked to the defendant in 2017. Devices were seized and material was found following a considerable period of time to go through the equipment.

Six police officers could face the sack after being found to have committed gross misconduct after they were recorded making abhorrent comments while working at Hampshire police s Serious Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) office in Basingstoke. The officers were recorded by a bugging device making abhorrent racist, sexist, homophobic and other inappropriate comments. Retired Detective Inspector Tim Ireson, Detective Sergeant Oliver Lage, Detective Sergeant Gregory Willcox, former PC Craig Bannerman, trainee Detective Constable Andrew Ferguson and PC James Oldfield have all been found to have breached professional standards at a disciplinary hearing.
