The Legacy of E. C. Manfred an Architect s Dream
E. C. Manfred was an English born Australian architect who was prominent for his workdesigning some of the most iconic buildings and parks in Goulburn, and one or two around Canberra. His work spanned the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The presenters are members of the Goulburn Heritage Group will illustrate the story of Edmund Manfred, supported by beautiful examples of his works in Goulburn and in surrounding areas, including the magnificent stables built at Yarralumla and the additions to Mona, Braidwood held in the National Library.
Goulburn’s busiest and grandest building period was in the wool-boom era at the end of the 1800s - and the most influential architect of this period was Edmund Cooper Manfred.
