Even though the water levels are rising in parts of central Oklahoma, Lake Arcadia is doing its job. It s holding the water that it s supposed to hold to make sure we re keeping people safe and not flood, said Casey Moore, with the City of Edmond.Once the lake reaches 12 feet, there s a potential it closes. We have been asked by people, Are they going to let water out of the lake? That is managed by the Army Corps of Engineers, Moore said. They re always going to look at making sure they re controlling the flow of water and keeping people safe downstream. When water is released from Lake Arcadia, it flows into the Deep Fork River and then runs all the way to Lake Eufaula. But if you live in an area prone to flooding downstream, the American Red Cross is available for assistance.
