The bodies of 36 year old bryon howard and 31 year old Heather Belieu were discovered in this home on Center Street monday afternoon. They were both shot to death. Police identified 39 year old Michael Wanchanic as a person of interest in the case. Wanchanic is believed to be the victims roommate. Hes been transferred to the polk county jail. Des moines firefighters are working to put out a fire at a motel. Police say crews were called to the cozy rest motel off southeast 14th street just after 730. Firefighters told police the motel was at one point fully engulfed in flames but crews were able to control the fire. Police have blocked off part of southeast 14th street at this time. Police say no injuries have been reported. Funeral services will be held today for the couple killed this week in des moines. Heather belieu and her fiance, bryon howard, were found shot to death inside a home on Center Street monday. Both funerals will take place at hamiltons funeral home, near highland memory gardens. Called to 3rd and court on a report of a shooting around 1 10 this morning. Two people were shot and one of the victims later died at a hospital from his injuries.
