Thumbs up: Cincinnati native Mick Cronin in spotlight of Final Four

Thumbs up: Cincinnati native Mick Cronin in spotlight of Final Four Enquirer editorial board One of our own is front and center on the national stage. Cronin’s 11th-seeded team started the tournament with a “First Four” game and defeated Michigan State in overtime. Then came victories in the field of 64 over Brigham Young, Abilene Christian, No. 2 seed Alabama and No. 1 seed Michigan. We do not forget that his career started in his hometown of Cincinnati, playing basketball for his highly regarded father and coach “Hep” Cronin at La Salle High school. Mick Cronin’s coaching journey started as an assistant coach at Woodward High School before he caught the eye of then-UC coach Bob Huggins, who hired Cronin as the Bearcats video coordinator in 1996-97.
