When Edith Schaeffer (1914-2013) died, she had four children, 15 grandchildren 35 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren â and countless spiritual heirs.
Born to missionaries in China, in 1935 Edith married Francis Schaeffer (1912-1984). Edith met Francis, a seminarian, at a Philadelphia church meeting. Eventually, they founded LâAbri, âThe Shelter,â in Switzerland.
