Key Takeaways
No matter what productivity, project management, and task management apps and services you use, emails will continue to play a significant role in your communication and work online.
If you are a Mac user, you get Apple Mail, the default email app, to manage and organize all your emails.
Apple Mail works fine and should suffice the needs of most users. But if you need more control over your emails and want an advanced set of email-management features and functionalities, you need third-party email clients.
Edison Mail adds advanced spam and phishing detection, but it ll cost you
Edison Mail is one of the most popular Android clients, thanks to its handy features and pleasing interface. It gained a plus version on iOS back in August, which offers extra anti-phishing protection and contact verification. Sadly, Android users were left out until now, but the app just made its way to the Play Store today.
The three extra features offered by Edison Mail+ are called Verify Sender, Update Contacts, and LinkedIn Discovery. They re part of a subscription that costs $14.99 per month or $99.99 per year.
Verify Sender uses an AI-based method to run a handshake with the sender s email server. If the latter doesn’t send back an acceptable response, the app notifies you the email might be suspicious. What s great about this feature is that it doesn t require the sender s email to have a valid DMARC configuration, which most users actually don t have, meaning Edison Mail+ s method is compatible
What you need to know
Edison today launched Edison Mail+, a subscription service for its email app.
It ll cost you $14.99 for the monthly option, with $99.99 to pay annually.
The subscription is launching with two anti-phishing features, but Edison says more will be coming later.
As we move into the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic, more and more of our communications remain virtual. There s also a lot of emailing going on for people looking for new jobs, looking for grants, or even seeking government assistance, and scammers can take advantage of that to target people who are vulnerable. One of the best Android apps, Edison Mail, today is getting a new tool, Edison Mail+. It s a subscription-based service that you can get via the app store for $14.99 a month, or $99.99 a year. A very steep price if you don t email that much, but one that some may consider being worth it.
