While headlining Eid day fete on Wednesday with an electrifying performance at Comedy Store, singer Edirisa Musuuza, alias Eddy Kenzo, dropped a daisy cutter: “I just want to let you know that Honourable Phiona Nyamutoro is my personal person and we have a kid (child) together”. He confirmed what was already known. But sources say
Eddy Kenzo doesn’t know precisely when he was born, a quirk of personal history that goes to the heart of how the Ugandan singer sees himself: a humble man who’s sometimes anxious about what happens next.
From a humble beginning, Kenzo has become the first Uganda-based singer to earn Grammy consideration. His recording, Gimme Love, was nominated recently for a Grammy award for best international music performance. Kenzo shares the nomination with co-performer American Matt B.
