The brave Waltham Abbey girl, Edie Jackson, died on Tuesday, January 26 just over a year after she was diagnosed with a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). DIPG is the deadliest form of childhood cancer with an average survival of just eight to 12 months. Edie’s devastated aunt, Emmie Adams, shared the heart-breaking update on behalf of the family, who were fundraising to help pay for clinical trials overseas, which they hoped would have a positive effect on her tumour.

A seven-year-old warrior who captured the hearts of the nation with her brave cancer fight has died - 14 months after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour following a check-up at the opticians.
Adorable Edie Jackson, from Waltham Abbey, Essex, was just six years old when she and her mother Lois, 39, father Craig, 40, and big brother, Charlie, 10, were dealt a devastating blow in November 2019.
She was diagnosed with a high-grade Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). The cancerous tumour is the deadliest form of childhood cancer, with an average survival prognosis of just eight to 12 months.
