Two people were treated and transported to hospital with minor injuries Wednesday, after chlorine mixed with other pool chemicals at a west-end apartment building, creating a dangerous gas.
According to Ottawa Fire Services, which received a call from a staff member at the building on Edgeworth Ave., near Carling Ave., the incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. After confirming that the gas had not spread through the rest of the building, Haz-Mat technicians entered the building and disposed of the product, while fans were set up to remove any remaining fumes.
