reporter: this is a wild story. an amazing rescue. first the facts. a man was attacked by a shark off of the peer, a rocky peer off lovers point in pacifico. i want to show you incredible video. this is surveillance video we got from a resident of monterey. you can see surfer swimming out to help the victim of the attack. after being helped by the swimmers and surfers, the victim was taken back to shore and ultimately to the hospital. he suffered religious injuries to his stomach and leg. we do not know the condition right now that we spoke to several people who were at the beach today including rescuers that say it was busy. people were swimming and surfing. because of the attack all beaches have been closed until at least saturday. they say they are disappointed but the surfers and swimmers understand. this is a fact. wall-to-wall people, especially the first beach. the other beach was busy but not as busy as this. they were enjoying the water at the time. today i thoug
