The MCG, Highpoint shopping centre and a CBD pub have been added as exposure sites after Victoria recorded seven additional local coronavirus cases, almost all of them linked to an apartment building complex in Melbourne’s inner west.
COVID-19 response commander Jeroen Weimar said the seven cases were in addition to the one new infection confirmed overnight, the fourth member of a family that had returned from Sydney, as part of the regular daily reporting and would be included in tomorrow’s official figures.
Four of the new cases were third-floor residents at the Ariele Apartments complex in Maribyrnong that was visited by two COVID-positive removalists from NSW last week. The parents of one of the positive apartment residents, a man in his 60s, also tested positive. The couple, aged 89 and 90, live in Craigieburn.
