IIHF 2021 World Championship medals share minting process with Nobel Peace Prize

Friday, 14 May 2021 The medals that will be played for at this year s International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship in Riga will be minted in Norway by the same process used to create the Nobel Peace Prize medal. The medals for the event, due to run from from May 21 to June 6, will also stand out because of their special large diameter of 10 centimetres, with each one weighing more than 400 grams. Their design includes the official logo of the Championship - a hockey player on the background of a stylised hockey field. The theme of the logo continues around the perimeter of the medal.

Share Detective Inspector Andy McWatt, of Lincolnshire Police, told the hearing at the Myle Cross Centre in Lincoln: Police were called to Alcorn Green at 10.22am on December 12 following reports of a male being found dead in a wooded area behind that green. He said paramedics attended the scene, the deceased was initially believed to have been a 30-year-old man, and that the police investigation continues. Coroner s officer Darren Sear said that Roberts, born in Liepaja, Latvia, was formally identified by his father Edgars Buncis. A 14-year-old boy has been charged with Roberts murder and was remanded in custody.
