Manatee Heritage Days offers monthlong celebration with various events
Throughout March, Manatee County s historical organizations and sites will host special exhibits, lectures, walking tours and more.
Manatee County s annual monthlong celebration of its history returns with a full roster of events, many outdoors as well as virtual amid the pandemic.
The 42nd annual Manatee Heritage Days takes place throughout March, as the county s historical organizations and sites host special exhibits, lectures, walking tours and more. Originally a week in length, Heritage Days eventually grew to nine days, then into a monthlong event in 1995.

Sarasota actor Daniel Pelissier stood on the new outdoor stage Jan. 17 at Jiggs Landing Outpost, his back turned toward Director Donna DeFant and Assistant Director Patti McCauley.
DeFant and McCauley were hosting auditions for Edgar Lee Masters “Spoon River Anthology,” a 1915 collection of poems that narrate the epitaphs of the residents of a fictional Illinois town. The two directors were looking for about 13 actors to fill roles in the play they will present beginning in late February on that same stage.
