El Pollo Loco, a well-known grilled chicken franchise, is planning to make a comeback to El Paso.
The Southern California-based chain, which has 31 restaurants across the state, plans to open three to four locations in El Paso over the next few years. The first one, which has yet to sign a lease, would open in 2022, according to a press release.
“We are excited to grow our footprint and bring El Pollo Loco s signature chicken, handcrafted Mexican entrees and assortment of healthy offerings to new communities,” said El Pollo Loco’s chief development officer Brian Carmichall in a press release.
The chain had been in El Paso in early 2000 s but then closed.
