November 29, 2021 U.S. District Judge Paul W. Grimm today sentenced Eddie Ray Johnson, Jr. of Brandywine, Maryland, to 16 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, with the first 12 months to be served in home confinement, for theft of government property, in connection with a scheme to use his government-issued travel credit card to obtain more than $1.1 million in cash advances. In addition, Judge Grimm ordered Johnson to perform 500 hours of community service, pay a $15,000 fine, forfeit $4,000 seized during a search on November 6, 2019, and pay restitution of $1,157,540.69.
When Morgan J. Peters II creates music, sometimes it feels like he has an unfair advantage.
âIt sort of feels like cheating, but itâs not, said Morgan, a graduate of the Class of 2021 at Mashpee High School.
âI hear music in my head â songs that donât even exist, melodies that are just in my mind â and then I go put the melody down somewhere.â
Morganâs songwriting ability might not be easily explainable, but his background sheds light on how he has developed this special talent.
In the Peters family, music is unavoidable.
Morganâs great-grandfather, Allan H. Nurse, was a pianist, composer and a producer at Decca Records. Morganâs father, Morgan J. Peters I, is a composer, playwright and a member of The GroovaLottos, the band Morgan is also a member of.

Craig also blamed the COVID-19 pandemic and court leniency for increased gun violence in the city.
Last week, DPD arrested 103 people for illegal carry, and seized their weapons, he said.

Johnson’s trial is pending and he needs a medical procedure. Talon granted him a compassionate release and ordered him to pay a $10,000 bond, wear a tether and he can remain at home after medical treatment.
Both Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy and Detroit Police Chief James Craig said the bond is inappropriate. Worthy’s office is appealing the decision.
“Judge Talon let her murderer free on a temporary bond. That’s $2,000 for every time he shot her. This is just not right,” said Williams’ childhood friend, Marquise Mitchell
