CROOKSTON, Minn. A man accused of strangling his girlfriend to death in 2017 in has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Eddie Markeith Frazier, 51, entered an Alford plea to the charge in Polk County court Monday, March 11. An Alford plea means he doesn t admit committing the crime, but acknowledges the state has enough evidence for a jury to find him guilty.
Prosecutors said Frazier intentionally strangled 48-year-old Tawnya Wallace at their Crookston apartment in May 2017. Wallace was found dead in her bathtub, according to charging documents.
Frasier was apprehended in Bloomington, Minn., after a statewide manhunt that ended with a standoff and officer-involved shooting, according to law enforcement officials.
