The CDC’s eviction moratorium is set to expire on July 31, which means tenants can be evicted for failure to pay rent. 

Fewer than half of Louisiana renters are caught up on rent payments, data shows

Lafayette Daily Advertiser Nearly a third of Louisiana s renters are behind on their rent payments, according to an analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data, and more than 69,000 Louisiana renters said they were potentially facing eviction in the next two months. With the federal moratorium on evictions set to expire at the end of January, more than 196,000 Louisiana renters of the 621,000 surveyed are behind on their rent payments, according to the U.S. Census Bureau s Household Pulse Survey. The data, collected Dec. 9 through Dec. 21, shows Louisiana has the 13th most renters behind on payments and has the highest proportion of renters that are behind.
