Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has filed an FIR against senior Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials at the SC/ST police station in connection with the recent search operation at his Delhi residence. The ED team, investigating a money laundering case related to a Jharkhand land deal, seized Rs 36 lakh, an SUV, and documents during the search. Soren is currently being questioned at his Ranchi residence.
Trinamool Congress (TMC) general secretary Abhishek Banerjee is expected to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on September 13. This may cause him to miss the first meeting of the opposition bloc INDIA , of which he is a member. Banerjee had received a notice from the ED to appear for questioning on the same day as the meeting. The ED had previously conducted raids in connection with a school jobs scam and claimed that Banerjee is the CEO of the company involved.
