With the election just five days away, zeta, the storm that roared ashore on the gulf coast as a hurricane wednesday night is wrecking havoc up and down the east coast tonight, and throwing a wrench in the final days of the campaign. As we come on the air, at least six people are dead and millions are without power after zeta ripped through homes in louisiana overnight, reports tearing across the south today. Wind gusts in North Carolina are forcing President Trump to postpone a planned rally in that battleground state. Power outages in georgia pushed early voting sites in 17 counties to shorten their hours or shut down. These ballots were cast already. They were cast under the laws of the states, and they were cast by the deadline. Some mail ballots might be coming in later that were postmarked. A lot of mail ballots came in today. But this process is still ongoing. And as was pointed out, and this was a really great point. On the one hand, President Trump is arguing to stop the count of validly cast ballots in states like michigan and wisconsin and pennsylvania and georgia, but on the other hand, arguing for continuing to count ballots in arizona because he thinks it will benefit him. Consistently, what weve always done is we count all of the ballots that were cast on election day and thats what were doing right now. And there are likely still tens of millions of ballots out there, including millions of ballots in the states were looking at that we havent called yet. Is it unusual for there to be a vote count after election day . Its not unusual at all for there to be a vote count after election day.

And thats wisconsin, michigan, pennsylvania, North Carolina and georgia. All the others projected or in the case of nevada and arizona as of this moment, leading to joe biden. The issue here is that, let me walk you through. In wisconsin, we estimate at least almost 700,000, 672,000 ballots still remaining to be counted. Theyve been cast. Not yet counted. And we can do

Of the tensions, unrest, on election day, and in the immediate aftermath. I do know that our f. B. I. Has been very focused on this issue. Theyve set up relationships with state Election Officials to monitor what we see across various different states. In the event there is trouble, our governors do have the National Guard to preserve the peace. But, margaret, none of this discussion should discourage people from participating in voting and exercising their right and responsibility to vote. Im encouraged that more than 90 million americans have already cast their ballots. Which if you do the math, is the equivalent of the entire 1996 president ial election. I remain optimistic, but we cannot discount the possibility of some trouble or unanticipated events brennan and it is the job of Law Enforcement to worry about these pockets. Possibilities. Yotheyre going to be briefing the media every few hours on election day about any interference. How do you assess the security of this election
