They call the process excruciating. Good morning, everyone. Happy friday. We have made it to friday. It has been quite a week. Welcome to bloomberg surveillance. I am Francine Lacqua here in london. The markets are focused on brexit, oil because of opec, and focus on u. S. Stimulus in the u. S. Stocks are holding gains, key data of course out of the u. S. , it is the u. S. Labor market. It is going to give us an indication of whether the economy needs support or not, and Oil Extending Gains after ninemonth high after this opecplus deal. I am looking at the dollar, treasuries pretty much nudging higher. A lot ofve a prett volatility because of brexit do we have a deal, do we not have a deal, have they walked out . It has been pretty unclear so far, talking about lastminute ships come up the british saying it is because of eu demands at the last moment, but it seems like it could be up in the air. Now lets get to the bloomberg first word news. Here is leighann gerrans. Hi, leighann. Leig

And so overnight tonight look at the future cast, a few left over flurries from time to time. The clouds here on day break are starting to break up. And a chilly start and if you are tired of this weather. Changes you know what, i think we have changes. New at 11 a mayor and lawmakers and overturn the nondiscrimination bathroom ordinance. The mayor tweeted out she is shocked that the General Assembly wants to make the move. It would hurt job growth and other cities like columbia and atlanta have similar ordinances. A it is a threat to safety and he had requests for house ordinance. The council said it will give protection to those in the Lgbt Community from discrimination and which bathroom to use, the idea that grown men and young girls should the bathroom and middle school boys and girls share locker facilities defies add children at risk. This is crazy. The reaction is this is crazy. It was an extension of the ordinance which clearly the cities have the right to pass and change. It
Dollars are well spent. From the standpoint about the concerns of the services provided, we think when you allow states to weaken the standards, and we have seen again, how states have used waivers to, in effect, create a day facto weakening of standards standards. We are deeply concerned. Well, i understand the need for flexzblety. But if the only principle here is that the states can do whatever they want, then they should raise their entaxes to pay for it. Throwing billions of federal dollars at the states with no accountability for the states of how they spend taxpayer money is not what we were sent here to do. So, thank you. Thank you, mr. Chairman. Thank you, senator warren. And i did welcome senator collins to the committee, which i should. Were delighted to have her back. She and senator cassidy are the only two members of the kmiet tee this year. Senator roberts. Number one, weve flipped the seating arrangement here. The lights are a little brighter, the heat is a little warme
Maintain that. So i guess for me today like to just talk a little bit about you know, where can we start . What can we do now that allows us to bridge that gap between the chicken and the egg . So we have the faa test sites which are great. But at the same time its a little bit of testing in a bubble. To ask research and Development Companies to rapidly iterate their technology and have to every couple of months figure out a time where they can get into a test site. Travel with their entire engineering team. Did they accidental leave the spectrum analyzer at the lab now someone has to fly home to get that. It doesnt allow for very rapid innovation which is obviously not going to let us keep up with the other countries in this world that are anbsolutely reaping the awards and benefits of this technology. Additionally, we must testing it in test sites is not necessarily going to give us the necessary data and logged flight hours to figure out what the hurdles are. What the road blkblocks
