PAULDING COUNTY – The Paulding County Commissioners met in a regular session recently with Roy Klopfenstein, Mark Holtsberry, Clint A. Vance and Heather Barnhouse, clerk of the commissioner’s office, present.
The Health Department of Paulding County seeks to repair and/or replace failing home sewage treatment systems. To accomplish this goal it intends to apply for the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF). In order for the application of the loan to be accepted and the execution of the WPCLF assistance agreement the government authority must pass legislation.
The commissioner’s authorized the Health Deparment to apply for the assistance, sign all pertinent documents and enter into a WPCLF with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for the repair/replacement of failing home sewage treatment systems.

I often wondered what made George Liddle Sr. decide to bass fish on the Cal Sag.
“When you’re ate up with bass fishing,, when there is a pond, you’re going to fish it,” said his son George Jr. driving back Sunday to Arkansas. “In the early ‘80s, we went out there a couple times and, ‘What the heck? There are fish here.’
“Early on, it was small baits, single spins, small crankbaits, doing anything to get a bite. Those baits still work well.”
Near the Y on the Calumet, they got up to 40 bass a day sometimes.
