Yeah, you mentioned it, gayle, a huge system. This extends from North Carolina on the north side to the central gulf of mexico. And we are stuck in the middle as the system did make land fall at 1 30 with 80 Miles Per Hour winds, making it a category one hurricane near st. Line there. But so significant that it made land fall as a category one hurricane. Believe it or not, its been 11 years since florida has seen a land falling category one hurricane or larger. So very, very unusual to have gone that long. But now we have what is left of this system affecting the tampa bay area. We have been inundated with rain over the last two days. So the ground is saturated but with this rain band, whipping around, this center of this point, the Tropical Storm warnings continue for our coastline. And that means we could feel Tropical Sto

Now, 1 30 this morning, this made land hurricane with 80 Miles Per Hour winds. Thats historic because thats the first land falling hurricane in florida in 11 years. Since wilma back in 2005. It was near st. Marks at the border of jefferson county. Now it has moved up into the land. And now it has weakened to a Tropical Storm. But when you look at the radar, you can see the center of circulation. The graphics are moving about as slow as the rest of us this morning. Having a tough go at it. Working hard all night long. Storm team 8 meteorologist Ed Bloodsworth joins us live. This storm completely different than 40 hours ago. Even just 24 hours ago. It is now a category 4 storm going through what we call a rapid intensification cycle. This is the 5 00 p. M. Advisory. Maximum sustained winds at 140 miles per hour. Make thanksgiving a strong category 4 storm. The movement west southwest now at 9 miles per hour. And pressure at 9 49. The pressure continues to fall. When that number goes down, your winds typically go up. There is the latest flight going out. They just dropped their instrumentation reporting a 78 mileperhour wind but they are not at the eye at this time here. Were likely to see higher readings in the next few hours. Hurricane center keeping it a category 4 storm through saturday. Then its expected to weaken but still maintain status as a strong category 3 storm as it approaches jamaica.
