working with our community leaders and advocates to address and provide more community, what we call messengers because it s not just the police and law enforcement but community and law enforcement working together. and then we are investing heavily, about $26 million, on what we call crisis intervention. domestic violence. those on substance abuse, people with mental behavior or health issues. it s a very comprehensive approach to addressing crime and bringing it down. and there s been 14 homicides already this year in d.c. dock talk about the challenges in d.c. as some argue the police are getting too much money. do you need expand the force. i think what you heard from mayor turner and others is this is an ecosystem issue, andrea. the police are certainly a part of it. we think we have to reinvest in them.
