see how we can rebalance the economy sensibly. so he is continuing to talk about the government. right. he is completely misguided. a practical solution. right? the bigger problem is i think this is right. we all want to help people who are in need right now. it is the government s way of helping creating more of a problem. we should help people but these mortgage programs and the food stamp programs. let me speak out for gridl k gridlock. the fact that the democrats who come in can t agree on anything means that certain programs do expire. we see the economy improving.
he s the only one with a heart in america. number two is, he s going to be talking about an improving economy. you can not talk about the economy improving, that recovery is here, at the same time say emergency, we need 99 weeks of unemployment insurance, middle and lower class wages are not going up. it s an emergency the rich are getting richer. what is he talking about? what is his plan? he s going to talk about promise zones. who is going to finance that? how is that going to make the deficit better? here is what s going on politically? the democrats realize that if the republicans control the conversation right up to the election in november, republicans will win because americans don t like the way the democrats have installed oner u.s. is health care on the nation. they re trying to change the subject. the subject is unemployment right now. emergency to brian s point. so how can republicans win the moral argument? steven hayes made a good point
square where the revelry is already beginning. people are gathered to welcome in 2014. but many americans are still feeling gloomy about 2013 and the economy and their own futures. we re back. and i want to talk about the economy improving. but the average american, you make a point in today s column on cnn.com today, the average american is not doing well at all. and i want to quote from your be piece. you said for black households, like the bun i grew up in, income fell by nearly 11%. red lobster remains a favorite place for black family to dine after church. i imagine it s hard to do with over a tenth of the income gone. we have barack obama in the white house. is he doing enough to help families like the one you grew up? it s important to note that
where the economy is going, but it s certainly much more like a truce on the western front, not, you know, big deal. here s my crystal ball. i look at my crystal ball, guys, and i see next year home prices continue to improve. i see the unemployment rate gets out of the 7% handle and down into the 6% s, right? i think europe starts to heal a little bit, and i see no government shutdown, ryan? really, really are we going to put those battles behind snus. i agree the economy improving, the long-term deficit or the short-term deficit means less governing by from crisis to crisis and a little more reality-based government like we saw this week. healing? yeah. it is healing. there are a lot of things i would like to see, particularly we ve turned to now stability, and now we have to do something about the long run for the future, and it s very paralyzed. the private sector is healing. all right. ken, nice to see both of you this weekend. thank you. president obama is calling o
