The Brunswick Town Council OK'd spending $1.12 million to construct the first pieces of the Midcoast Athletic and Recreation Complex, a multi-million-dollar set of courts, fields and other recreation amenities that supporters hope will draw families and spending to town.
Brunswick's town councilors unanimously voted to extend its housing development moratorium another six months in order to give the town's Housing Committee more time to iron out its policy recommendations.
The Brunswick Town Council, which also approved a new housing development support fund Monday evening, will use the extended development pause to consider zoning changes as a solution to the area's housing shortage.
