When I asked my editor this week if it was too late to submit a column on the topic of the federal budget, which was finally released last week after nearly two years without a firm reporting on our country’s finances, he said he would welcome the column.
“The fact that our nation’s finances are crumbling shouldn’t just be a 24 hour news story,” he quipped.

I’m sure the Trudeau government would much prefer if it were a simple 24 hour news story. Take a few blows and wait for the news cycle to move on to something juicier like an inevitable media pile-on against Conservative premiers Jason Kenney or Doug Ford.

A partnership approach
We work with a variety of partners through our local area, regional and sectoral teams. These range from local authorities, community planning and growth deal partnerships to national industry leadership groups and regional networks such as the Convention of the Highlands and Islands and the Highlands and Islands European Partnership.
We also directly deliver in partnership, for example the Scottish Land Fund with the National Lottery Community Fund and fibre roll-out with Digital Scotland.

With the Scottish Government s Programme for Government having a green economic focus at its heart, decision-makers in Glasgow have also been making long-standing changes to help support net zero ambitions. In 2019 Glasgow City Council (GCC) set up a Climate Emergency Working Group, subsequently declaring a climate emergency in the city. It produced an independent report making 61 recommendations, with a target to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. The Council has been building on this by seeking views from local organisations, businesses, and communities on the Climate Change Implementation Plan, in an attempt to galvanise support in its delivery.

feared due to the impact of COVID-19 but there are still
challenges ahead for the region.

Report June-December 2020 released today. The report is an
interim update given Marlborough is still in a period of
change. The next full report will be released in the second
quarter of 2021 to capture impacts of the pandemic on the
local tourism, retail and hospitality sectors and as well as
any new mitigating actions undertaken.

Copan Receives $99K Grant for Wastewater System
Garrett Giles The Copan Public Works Authority (CPWA) received approval on Tuesday for a $99,500 Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) grant through the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) to improve the CPWA s wastewater infrastructure. According to Perryman, the grant is calculated to save the CPWA s customers $179,100 in principal and interest charges by not having to borrow the project funds. Since 1983, the Water Resources Board has approved over $4.8 billion in loans and grants for water and wastewater infrastructure improvements throughout Oklahoma. OWRB Executive Director Julie Cunningham said they re grateful to State Senator Julie Daniels and State Representative Judd Strom for their continued support of water and wastewater infrastructure funding in Oklahoma. Sen. Daniels is a Republican from Bartlesville and Rep. Strom is a Republican from Copan.
