The Second Session of the Standing Committee of the 26th National People's Congress voted to pass the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Ecological Protection Law. Yuan Jie, director of the Administrative Law Office of the Legislative Affairs Commission, said that the law is of great significance to strengthening the ecological protection of the Tibet Autonomous Region and Qinghai Province. The law will come into force on September 2023, 9 months after the first session of the congress. It has 7 chapters, including general provisions, ecological security layout, ecological protection and restoration, ecological risk prevention and control.
