DSWD distributes P27-M educational aid in Davao Region

In a statement, DSWD-11 said the amount was given to around 11,023 students in various grade levels. The aid is under the DSWD's Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program, which has been extended to cover students in crisis or emergencies. Marigen Anislag, 46, a resident in this city, received PHP3,000 aid for her Grade 12 child.

Displaced workers in Pangasinan benefit from DOLE s TUPAD

MALASIQUI, Pangasinan - Some 3,056 displaced or disadvantaged workers in Pangasinan have benefitted from the Department of Labor and Employment's (DOLE) community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for them from Sept. 1 to 21. In a phone interview on Wednesday, DOLE Ilocos information officer Justin Paul Marbella said DOLE has released a total of PHP13.5 million for the wages of workers who were tapped for cash-for-work services under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program. "The workers labored for sanitation and disinfection services in their home barangays. To protect them in their discharge of duties, the workers were also given personal protective equipment and micro-insurance," he said.
