BANJUL, July 15 (Xinhua) All COVID-19 regulations passed in March will be fully implemented as of Saturday, the Gambian government announced Thursday as the third wave hits the country. Considering the worrisome trajectory of the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic in the country, the government of The Gambia hereby reminds the public of the order by the Minister of Health on social distancing and compulsory wearing of face masks passed on March 8 2021, said government spokesperson Ebrima G. Sankareh in a statement.
He said mask-wearing is mandatory in public places. Those who violate this order are hereby to pay a fine of 1,000 Dalasis (about 20 U.S. dollars), he added.
