The Peoples Democratic Party has raised the alarm that its members in the Ebonyi State Chapter of the party are being attacked, harassed and killed.
The party stated that those behind the atrocities are sponsored by agents of the state government.
This was disclosed in a statement titled ‘PDP Alerts of Attack, Killing, Labelling of Its Members in Ebonyi State,’
signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Thursday.
The statement read, “The attention of the PDP has been drawn to the harassment, intimidation and unfounded criminal allegations against our members and stakeholders in the Ebonyi State Chapter of our party.

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State on Saturday declared his belief in a united Nigeria and condemned calls for secession by some groups in the country.
Mr Umahi said this in Abakaliki during the conclusion of the 8-day prayer and fasting session organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ebonyi State Chapter, over the security situation in the state.
The governor said he believed in a country where oneness, freedom, equity, justice, fairness among other virtues prevailed.

Ebonyi State Government under the leadership of Governor David Nweze Umahi on Saturday ended the seven days fasting and prayer which was aimed at seeking the face of God over the insecurity ravaging the country, Igbere TV reports.
IGBERE TV reports that the Fasting and Prayer were organised in partnership with the Ebonyi State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Speaking after the seven days Fasting and Prayer, Governor Umahi said he fully trust in God that their prayers have been answered.
According to Governor Umahi, “I am happy and I fully trust in God that our prayers have been answered.”

Umahi gave the ultimatum after a security meeting at the government house Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
“we have agreed that all native doctors in the state and traditional medicine dealers must within seven days today register with the Commissioner for Border Peace, with the Commissioner for health and with the Commissioner of Police,” Umahi said. There will be an executive order to this event and anyone that is caught doing otherwise will be arrested and will be prosecuted,” Umahi said.
The governor also placed 10 hours curfew on the state entry and exit points adding that the curfew will begin from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am and defaulters will pay N1 million fine.
