Police confirm killing of four gunmen, nurse in Rivers

Punch Newspapers Sections Published 16 May 2021 The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the killing of four fleeing gunmen and a female nurse in Okpulor, Oyigbo Local Government Area of the state. Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen were among those who reportedly murdered seven policemen in an attack on security formations along the Rumuji area of the East-West Road and Elimgbu Police Station in Obio/Akpor LGA recently. The police had said their operatives killed two of the attackers while others fled with gunshot injuries. A source confided in Sunday PUNCH that the nurse simply identified as Uchechi was treating the gunmen in an uncompleted building when a police team surrounded the place and opened fire on them.
