The platform, which uses data analytics to collect data from Trinity’s fleet of 132,000 owned and managed rail cars, includes an interface that allows customers to access location and asset status. Interface features include GPS and track & trace capabilities, weather overlay and geofencing. Customers also have access to message data about the car’s location and impact and motion detection.
“We have heard from our customers that they need to manage their rail supply chain more efficiently,” said Gregg Mitchell, TrinityRail Chief Commercial Officer, in a press release.
