In Italy, you start the day at your nearby cafe where you fuel up with a jolt of espresso, a sip of macchiato (the kind dappled with milk foam, not drowned with caramel), or a cup of cappuccino, a milky drink reserved for the morning. Now at Eataly, you’ll be able to do the same. This week the Italian food emporium opens Caffé Lavazza, an all-day cafe downstairs from the Eataly Dallas markets and restaurants above. An all-day cafe named Caffè Lavazza opens May 6, 2021 on the ground floor of NorthPark Center, at the bottom level of the three-story Eataly gourmet Italian grocery store. Customers will access Caffè Lavazza from inside NorthPark Center or from inside Eataly.

Caffè Lavazza, it ll be an Italian-style, all-day café and bar, in partnership with Lavazza, an Italian coffee company. The cafe will serve breakfast, lunch, and merenda for dining-in or to-go. Merenda is an afternoon snack, so if you want a real meal for dinner, you ll probably be nudged towards one of their other inhouse restaurants. Freezing temperatures and dangerous driving conditions among a slurry of other weather- and power-related problems have caused several Dallas restaurants to close. Many shuttered their doors ahead of the snowy weekend and have yet to creak them back open. Some restaurants, cafes, and the like are braving the roads to reopen Tuesday, likely with limited hours.
