The Annapolis City Council adopted what they called a “short-term solution” Monday to a legislative knot that has delayed major construction projects throughout Maryland’s capital.
New ordinance would allow new major construction to move forward without a fully staffed police force, provided developers took additional security measures.
Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson asked City Council members Thursday to repeal an ordinance that ties police staffing numbers to the city’s population and commission a study on the matter.
