Walkathon for Frontier Nagaland statehood demand today

Our ReporterDimapur, Oct.6 (EMN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation’s (ENSF) proposed mass public walkathon in all administrative and tribal headquarters under eastern Nagaland is set to commence today, marking the first phase of agitation for the Frontier Nagaland statehood demand called by the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation. A source informed Eastern Mirror that after the peaceful walkathon, a memorandum on behalf of the federating units will be submitted to the government of India (GoI) through the respective district deputy commissioners on Oct. 7, and the next phase of agitation will depend on the response of the GoI. Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) has resolved to completely ban any election campaign by political leaders, political party workers and candidature declaration programme in any form by individual and groups or parties under Yimkhiung areas. The resolution to this effect was taken during a joint consultative meeting of the YTC along with all the Yimkhiung frontal organisations on September 27 at Shamator headquarters, a copy of the resolution which was submitted to the ENPO president stated. Dimapur, Sep. 20 (EMN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has called a mass public walkathon in all the administrative headquarters in eastern Nagaland as the first phase of agitation towards the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation’s (ENPO) demand of separate statehood. Following an emergency federal assembly session at Anatongre village under Shamator district on Tuesday, ENSF resolved to hold the walkathon on Oct.7, and urged the seven federating units of ENSF to amalgamate village-level clusters in respective tribal jurisdictions to embark on the movement. It said that the background and the genesis of the ‘Frontier Nagaland’ statehood demand will be expounded in respective tribal vernacular languages. Dimapur, Aug. 28 (EMN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has lauded the state machineries under the leadership of Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, in bringing about the groundbreaking initiative in orchestrating the first of its kind Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conclave 2022 in the state. “The initiative taken up by the state government in a bid to facilitate the young and budding entrepreneurs, start-ups and educated intelligentsia of the state to revive the state economy and to cater employment opportunities through the CSR initiatives is plausibly the need of the hour, taking cognizance of the unemployment and economic crisis of the state,” ENSF stated in a press release.
