No. 5 Rose overcomes unsteady first quarter to blow out Fike

Wilson, N.C. The J.H. Rose Rampants took down Fike on the road by a score of 40-20. It was a non-conference matchup between the Big East’s Golden Demons and the Eastern Carolina’s Rampants. Rose is the 5th-ranked team in the East by HighSchoolOT.
Rose got off to a rocky start. The Rampants fumbled and threw a tipped interception on two of their first three drives.
The Golden Demons struck gold first. Freshman rusher N’Carrius Woodard found a hole in the Rose defense to score from five yards out midway through the opening quarter.

The Rose Rampants got off to a slow start against Fike but eventually found their groove in the second quarter to pull away from the Golden Demons. After the 40-20 win, No. 5 Rose is now 2-0 this season.

No. 3 South Central avoids upset by Conley on senior night

Winterville, N.C. In a game that was dictated by strong defensive effort by both teams, South Central was able to hold off a late surge by Pitt County foe D.H. Conley to finish the season with a perfect 13-0 record. The Falcons won the contest by a score of 47-41.
South Central won the first game between the two teams in blowout fashion. The Falcons won that contest 61-34.
The Vikings did not let this game get away from them like what happened last time. D.H. Conley was very focussed defensively and clogged up potential driving lanes for South Central. The Falcons defense also played well. After tonight s game, the Falcons only gave up 42 points per game all season long.

Greenville, N.C. It s not often that we get to see crosstown rivalries happen in a regional final, but that s exactly what happened at the 3A East Regional Final in Greenville. D.H. Conley welcomed its fiercest rival J.H. Rose to determine which Greenville school would get to move on to the 3A title game. As it did in the first two matchups, D.H. Conley defeated the Rose. The Vikings won three sets to the Rampants one.
DH Conley advances to 3A regional final with 3-1 win over Chapel Hill, will face Rose

Greenville, N.C. The D.H. Conley volleyball team is going back to the 3A Eastern Regional Final. And this time, the Vikings are going to have to defeat archrival J.H. Rose in order to make the state title game. The Vikings advanced to that matchup with a win over a very good Chapel Hill team in four sets on Saturday.
Chapel Hill, which entered this afternoon s matchup with a 14-2 record, defeated Conley in the regional final last season in five sets. In the year before last season, Conley defeated Chapel Hill in the regional round. While today s matchup was in the round before regionals, it had the look and feel of a final four matchup.
