A defense attorney based in Franklin County created fake court orders and made up allegations of dishonest testimony in an effort to mislead a client who was seeking to appeal a conviction of homicide by vehicle, according to an order from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court granting disciplinary action.
Bret Alison Beynon was suspended Friday from practicing law in Pennsylvania for a period of one year and one day, according to the order. She joined the Office of Disciplinary Counsel in filing the joint petition in support of discipline on consent.

Repairs will begin first on the Route 3017/Academia Road bridge on April 12. The bridge will be closed that day and a 9-mile detour using Route 3017, Route 35, and Route 3008 Groninger Valley Road) will be in place. Shortly after that work begins, repairs will get underway on the Route 75 bridge. That work will take place under an alternating traffic pattern controlled by temporary traffic signals. Once work on both bridges is underway, repairs will be made concurrently. PennDOT anticipates completing work on all four bridges by November and will issue project updates as work progresses. All work is weather and schedule dependent.

MIFFLINTOWN – Chad Sample with the Mifflin Juniata Regional Services, was on conference call with the Juniata County commissioners Tuesday to discuss the need for volunteers for the Home Delivery Meal Program. The program currently serves 130 seniors in Juniata County from two locations, the River Church in Mifflintown and McAlisterville Senior Center at the Lions Den in McAlisterville.
The program relies on volunteer drivers to deliver the meals to the senior’s homes. Currently the program is looking for volunteers for two Juniata County rural routes. The volunteers would fill in for the regular drivers when they are sick, on vacation or are unable to make deliveries that day. Sample said prior to making deliveries on a route the volunteers will have an opportunity to ride along with the regular drivers so they can become familiar with the route.
