She was first sworn into office in Jan. 2006 and has represented the neighborhoods of Central, Kinsman, Midtown, and part of downtown. Councilwoman Cleveland has served as Majority Leader in council and as vice chairwoman of the council’s Finance Committee. She also chaired the Transportation Committee and sat for various others. She is a graduate of East Technical High School and Case Western Reserve University where she earned her graduate degree in law.

Cleveland schools begin coronavirus vaccinations for teachers, staff (photos) Updated Feb 09, 2021; Facebook Share CLEVELAND, Ohio Cleveland schools kicked off coronavirus vaccinations for teachers and staff on Tuesday, beginning with CEO Eric Gordon. Gordon said he, and the other school leaders vaccinated on Tuesday morning at East Technical High School, hope to serve as an examples to the community. The vaccinations for school staff and teachers will run for the next two weeks, before looping around for the second dose. There needs to be a gap between the doses. Though Cleveland schools staff are receiving first doses this week, the district has not yet set a return date for buildings. Gordon, in a Cleveland City Council meeting on Monday, said the best prediction would be April 5, the week after the vaccinations end.
