Christmas Eve service
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will host a Christmas Eve Parking Lot Service at 6 p.m., Dec. 24. The service will include a meditation from the Rev. Seth Stout, singing, and the lighting of battery-operated candles. All are welcome. Park in the lot at 1127 Beatty Ave., and please plan to remain in your vehicles for the duration of the service.
Lakeland Parish
Lakeland Parish (Freeport, Mount Carmel & West Chester) United Methodist Church is hosting a Candlelight Christmas Eve Service at 7 p.m., Dec. 24, in the parking lot of the Freeport Press - by the town square.

If you haven’t made your grocery run for milk, eggs, and bread yet, you might want to take a break and do that first.
The snow is coming, and although not a flake has fallen yet, local municipalities and school districts are already taking steps to prepare for the expected accumulation.
Lebanon County Weather reports that up to 18 inches are forecasted here, with a high confidence level that we will see at least a foot even if the worst of it doesn’t come to pass.

Lebanon County Weather also notes that our region is expected to lie close to an intense band of frontogenesis, an area between two air masses, where “puking snow” is expected at rates in excess of 2-3 inches per hour. If Lebanon County were to end up in this band, 18+ inches of snow would be likely.
