Capitol Confidential By Amanda Fries on January 11, 2021 at 9:40 AM NASSAU A property owner in the town of Nassau is apparently the first landlord in Rensselaer County to be charged under the state’s tenants’ law passed in 2019 after she allegedly shut off power to an occupied apartment on Thanksgiving. Nassau police on Dec. 23 charged Denise Guerrero with misdemeanor harassment under the state’s Real Property Law and three counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly shutting off the power off to Shallyn Provedor’s apartment on Route 66 in East Nassau while she prepared Thanksgiving dinner two months ago.
