Community to mourn those lost to COVID | News, Sports, Jobs

Staff Reports Local Marietta businesses are coming together to host a community memorial event later this month to give people an opportunity to mourn the passing of beloved friends or family members. By displaying a photo and written eulogy of loved ones, community members will have the opportunity to pay their respects and reflect on fond memories later this month. The ceremony will be 2-4 p.m. May 29 at East Muskingum Park in Marietta. All COVID protocols will be followed. The event is not only for people whose friend or family member passed from COVID-19, it is also for people who weren’t able to attend a traditional funeral service due to pandemic restrictions.

Meetings ¯ Marietta Amateur Radio Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Club House, 618 Hartline Road, off of Stanleyville Road, Washington County 42. The meeting will be conducted following COVID-19 indoor meeting restrictions. For more information, call 740-373-4191 or 740-374-3823. ¯ Reno Water and Sewer District will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. May 18 in Reno Water Office Building, 170 Mount Tom Road. Public is welcome. Safe distancing will be practiced and masks are requested due to COVID. ¯ Liberty Township will hold 2021 regular monthly meetings at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month. ¯ Decatur Township will hold its monthly public meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at the township building on Welch Road in Cutler.
